Justices Rule On Nigerian Human Rights Case

Over the past 20 years, human rights activists have continued to protest against reports of violation in Nigeria, particularly in the Niger Delta region where foreign oil companies operate. Activists appealed to the High court; however, today the Supreme court ruled against the suit. The “Alien Tort Statute” used to bring the case to court, according to Chief Justice John Roberts, could not be applied beyond the US. Read Here.
